Shreefer Law Firm was established in 2016 because Karina Shreefer wanted to fill a need she saw in the legal community: a one-stop-shop for serving civil cases internationally. Shreefer Law handles the details of service from start to finish, including translation, shipping, and correspondence with the country’s authority.
ABOUT KARINA
Karina Shreefer is a nationally and internationally recognized attorney specializing in transnational litigation procedures with an emphasis on service of process and evidence-taking abroad. Since earning her J.D. from the University of Kansas School of Law in 2000, Ms. Shreefer has been advising U.S. attorneys and law firms on the intricacies of international civil procedure and has overseen successful service on over a thousand defendants across the globe. She has served defendants pursuant to the Hague Service Convention, Inter-American Convention on Letters Rogatory and Additional Protocol, and other statutes and rules. Ms. Shreefer has expertise serving in countries in North America, South America, Europe, Asia, and Australia.
HONORS & ACHIEVEMENTS
Ms. Shreefer remains involved in legal education and policy development. In 2014, her expertise let her to the Hague Conference in the Netherlands at the invitation of the U.S. Department of State to act as its Private Sector Advisor to the U.S. delegation. During a week at the Peace Palace in the Hague, delegates and State representatives from around the world formed a Special Commission to discuss and improve the operation of the Hague Evidence, Service, and Apostille Conventions. Also in 2014, Ms. Shreefer co-authored a chapter on service of process in Mexico for inclusion in the multi-volume treatise Litigating Truck Accident Cases published by West. She testified before the New York Supreme Court regarding service of process in Taiwan in June 2015 and before a Marathon County, Wisconsin Court in 2009. Ms. Shreefer is also a frequent presenter and moderator at CLE programs and other professional conferences.
